006 - Jerry Falwell Jr. Blames You!

This week we look into the deep chasm of Jerry Falwell Jr. and his long overdue resignation from Liberty University. It is clear that Falwell had no justifiable qualification to take over for his father, who founded the Fundamentalist school. This points to the need for Christians not to regard name or family reputation (or any other concern for that matter) over the needs of giving a Christian education. Then we turn our attention to the least shocking study result ever: White Evangelicals are the only religious group in the nation who by majority do not support a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. There is a common conflation of law and morality which could be at play, and Jesus' command to love our neighbors as ourselves defeats fear-based thinking.
